I spent the day in Boston, leading an AI + Strengths retreat with the incredible team at Brandeis. 

They wanted a training to help them bring out their best, but also named something I hear everywhere right now:

“We’re being asked to do
This was me on the flight last night, smiling with a sleeping kid on my lap, while the other watched a movie.

What you don’t see:

✈️ A TSA pat-down because of an applesauce pouch (yes, really)

😢 A stranger yelling at my daughter for somethi
Today we did our run-through for our NACE panel happening in just two weeks — and I left feeling so grateful (and fired up).

Grateful to be presenting alongside these incredible women.
Fired up to have this conversation on a national stage.

Before I left for a working meeting in Palm Springs today, my daughter gave me a card.

Not because I was flying out of town or leaving for days. I was only leaving for the day, but I would be away from the home office.

And that made it harder someh
This morning’s coffee felt extra meaningful.

I pulled out my favorite NASPA mug — a gift from when I last served on the regional board — and sipped it while packing for Palm Springs.

I’m heading there today for meetings with

That might not sound like a big deal, but if I were still in my higher ed job, I wouldn’t have been here to do it.

And here’s the thing:

That creativity and fun weren’t real leadership skills.

That my strengths weren’t the right strengths.

But you know what changed everything?

Just like he always does.
